Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 28: National Secular Forum (NSF), Jammu University Unit organized a programme in Jammu University, on the birth anniversary of Shaeed Bhagat Singh, who laid his life for the country. The activists distributed sweets among the students, scholars and faculty member. Amid slogans “Bhagat Singh Amar Raha ‘”inqulaab Zindabad” ‘Bharat Mata ki jai”, and they paid tributes to shaeed Bhagat Singh and garlanded the portraits of the son of soil. MLC and Former Minister Ajay Sadhotra, was the chief guest while Prof N.K.Thripathi, Dean Students Welfare, was the special guest, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik HOD Urdu Deptt, Prof. H.R. Sharma, Ankush Aborl, Member Working Committee JKCA, Chander Mohan Sharma Secretary NC Jammu Province, Vijay Lochan President All J&K Dalit Mahasabha and Rakesh Chib, President JURSEA, were the guest of honour and Vikas Sharma State President NSF, presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion, MLC and Former Minister Ajay Sadhotra appreciated the initiative taken by the NSF member to remember the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. He also stressed upon the youth to shun their self centered outlook and contribute in the development of the nation. Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik recalled the planning capability, boldness and feeling of nationalism in martyra Bhagat and stressed upon the youth to follow his ideas. Prof.N.K.Thripathi, Dean Students Welfare, appealed to the youth to come forward to eliminate all evils from the society. His legacy prompted youth in India to begin fighting for Indian independence and also increased the rise of socialism in India Ravi Chowdhary, Chairman , NSF, Jammu University delivered the welcome address, Rohit Sharma, Working President, Jammu University Unit, delivered the vote of thanks.
