The tour of 20 students was flagged off by the Commander of Nowshera Brigade on October 28, 2010 from Butalia Auditorium. Several senior officers and civilian dignitaries were present on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion, Commander Nowshera Garrison requested the students to spread the message of peace and tranquility at the places they visit and see how our country is developing. The tour will provide the children a brief exposure to the development, quality of life and historical places of interest in other parts of the country. The tour will also instill a sense of awareness and national integration amongst the children of these areas. During the tour, children will be visiting various places of interest at Trivandrum, Kanyakumari and Chennai. At Chennai, they will interact with the Governor of Tamil Nadu. The students were enthusiastic about the forthcoming outing as they were venturing beyond the boundaries of Rajouri for the first time. The gesture of taking the students for this tour has struck the right cord with villagers of Nowshera. Locals and parents of these children expressed their gratitude towards the Indian Army for giving an opportunity to their children to see other parts of the country.
