| Measures for traffic decongestion in city discussed | | |

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 28- Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal today convened a meeting of officers of various departments to discuss proposed measures for decongestion of traffic in Jammu city, including widening of roads and construction of flyover and bridges.
Among others Deputy Commissioner Jammu M. K. Dwivedi, XEN PWD (R&B) S. P. Manhas, Project Manager, ERA A. K. Koul, Senior General Manager NBCC Hem Raj, Joint Commissioner JMC Babu Ram, ADC (J) R. Batul ,RTO Jammu, J. S. Manhas, SP City Randeep Kumar, SP Traffic Jammu Z. N. Manhas, and other senior officers of concerned departments attended the meeting.
Kotwal had a detailed discussion with the officers regarding traffic decongestion in Jammu city. He said that various road widening projects and construction of flyover and bridges have been proposed in Jammu city and stressed the need for completing the preliminary arrangements for taking up the project in hand .
Div Com also asked the concerned department to start face lifting work along the roads and rotaries well before darbar move. He directed the Power Development Department to replace the damaged poles if any along the roads.
Traffic department apprised the Divisional Commissioner that there is a need to modify some rotaries in the city and redesigning of rotaries is needed besides installation of traffic signals at different locations.
