Chib reviews availability of medicine in Srinagar hospitals

Srinagar, Sept 28- To meet the demands of medicine and other essential items by Government Associated Hospitals of Srinagar, a meeting of Medical Superintendents of Government Lal Ded Hospital, SMHS Hospital, Bones and Joint Hospital, Psychiatric Hospital and G.B. Pant Hospital was held here, today, under the chairmanship of Minister for Medical Education R.S. Chib.
Principal Government Medical college Srinagar, Prof. Shahida Mir, HoD Community medicine Dr. Qazi Masoodi and Representatives of International Red Cross Society (IRCS), Mr. David and Dr. Vikar also attended the meeting.
Medical Superintendent apprised the meeting about the facilities being provided to the out- door and indoor patients in their hospitals and projected the demands of medicine and other items for running their hospitals smoothly and efficiently.
The Representatives of IRCS assured the Minister that IRCS will leave no stone un-turned in helping the injured patients as well as those suffering from other ailments, by supplying various drugs and other important items.
Chib while appreciating the efforts of IRCS for their endeavours for joining hands with State Government said that besides medicines, Ambulatory services are being provided by IRCS for efficient ferrying of patients, attendants and staff from the city hospitals.
Saying that Health services cannot be neglected, Chib said that under the dynamic patronage of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah inspite of odd situation in the Valley, the medical education Department is doing all out efforts to provide every kind of facilities to the patients and attendants which included free treatment, medicine, diet and comfort in Government Hospitals.
He directed the Superintendent to re-double their efforts in extending best possible medicare to the patients besides other ambulatory and diet facilities, especially to those who cannot afford.
