| Cheques amounting Rs 15 lakhs distributed under IAY scheme | | |

Jammu, Sept 28: MLA, Bimla Luthra of National Conference (NC) distributed cheques worth Rs 15 lakhs under IAY scheme in favour of poor and needly people of district Jammu at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan here today.
Provincial president of NC, Rattan lal Gupta who was the chief guest said NC is committed to uplift the weaker sections of the society and in this connection various schemers have been launched by the coalition government and IAY is alo one of the scheme for the upliftment of poorest of the poor so that they are in a position to build their hutments.
Referring to the valley situation Gupta said that the state govt. has taken initiatives to open the educational institutions and people are coming forward to send their children to these institutions and they understand that loss of education is an irreparable one as it is directly concerned with future of our next generatin.
Bimla Luthra said she has prepared the cheques out of her CDF to help the poor, down trodden and particularly women flok in rural areas of Jammu district to construct their hutments. To construct shelter for poor people is mot reasonable help to the poor and Below Poverty Line people. She asked the beneficiaries to utilize these funds for the purpose for which they have been issued to them.
Those who were present on the occasion include, Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Ayub Malik, Jugal mahajan, Rajesh Bakshi, Sanjay Gupta, SS Bunty, SS Jamwal, Reeta Gupta, Veena Oberoi, Lalita Sharama, Radha Rani and etc.
