Lucknow, Sep 28 : The Supreme Court today paved the way for deliverance of the much-awaited verdict on the 60-year-old Ayodhya title suit by special bench of the Allahabad High Court.

The focus of the country has shifted back to the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court which will deliver the crucial verdict at 1530 hrs on September 30.

The date and timing of the verdict had been taken by the Allahabad High Court after the Supreme Court rejected the deferment plea of Ramesh Chandra Tripathi, one of the defendants in the Ayodhya suit earlier in the day.

The three-member special full bench at Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court comprising Justices S U Khan, Sudhir Agarwal and D V Sharma will deliver its judgement which will end the uncertainty prevailing in the country.

The decision was hailed by all the political parties, Hindu and Muslim organisations as well as the people in general.

The deferment plea was made in order to find time for reaching an out-of-court compromise formula of the vexed Ayodhya issue.

The Allahabad High Court was slated to give its verdict on September 24 but was a stayed by the apex court on September 23 on the deferment plea. Earlier, on September 17, the special bench of the Allahabad High Court had rejected the plea followed by an appeal in the apex court.

On September 20, Justice Dhram Veer Sharma, in his dissent note, had objected to the decision of his two senior colleagues on imposing a penalty of Rs 50,000 on Tripathi.

Coincidentally, it also cleared the doubts over extension of service of Justice Sharma he was to retire on October one.

The Supreme Court today rejected the petition of Tripathi, who had moved the apex court demanding deferment of the Ayodhya title suit verdict to go for another round of reconcillation and in view of the law and order threat in the country. All other parties to the title suit mainly the Sunni Wakf Board, UP and All India Hindu Mahasabha had opposed the petition of Tripathi but the Nirmohi Akhara had come out in spport of the plea. In fact, Nirmohi Akhara has asked for deferment of the verdict for three months to enable all the parties to reach a compromise formula on the vexed issue.

The SC heard all the contending parties before giving the green signal to the Allahabad High Court to deliver its verdict.

Meanwhile, security in and around the Lucknow bench of the High Court has been strengthened afresh and the central forces have been given the charge of the premises.
