| Charak holds meeting with prominent citizens | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | OCT 28 inister for Roads and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak today met with prominent citizens of city of temple which include MLC Mr. Praduman Singh, President Industries and Commerce Mr. Ram Sahai, Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Mr. Governdhan Singh Jamwal, Ex-MLA Mr. Balwan Singh, Ex-Vice Chancellor Jammu University Mr. M. R. Puri, President Jammu Yatri Niwas Mr. Pawan Shastri, President of Lodges and Hotel Association Mr. Ravi Mahajan, Corporator Mrs. Santosh Magotra, Director KAWA Institute Mr. M. S. Katoach and other prominent dignitaries at Dogra Sadar Sabha to redress their genuine problems. The problems are construction of lake in river Tawi, Cable Car project from Bagh-e-Bahu to Mubarak Mandi, Repair and renovation of Royal Dogra Heritage Complex, construction of city parks and gardens with modern lines, construction of Zoo at Nagrota, upliftment of Dogra folk culture, base camp for Shri Amarnath Yatris, plantation along the road side from Bye-Pass to Nagrota, tourist spots at Purmendal and Utterbani and construction of yatri Sarai at Railway Station. The Minister assured them their genuine problems would be looked into and solved in a phased manner. He said that the coalition government is making concerted efforts to beautify all the tourists’ spots of all the three regions of the state for the benefit of tourists as well as locals. He said that efforts would be made for the proper cleanliness of Jammu city in view the fact that over one crore Vaishnodevi pilgrims visit annually and it almost necessary to provide hygienic conditions. Mr. Charak informed the prominent citizens that the centre government has already sanctioned Rs. 43 crore for repair and renovation of Royal Dogra Heritage Complex at Mubarak Mandi. He informed that the renovation work of the complex has already been started. He said that the strategies worked out for the preservation of the palaces, artifacts, weaponry, rare paintings and manuscripts, precious items, exceptional valuables.
