Early Times Report Srinagar, Sep 29 : A police spokesman this afternoon said only 31 students are in police custody in the Kashmir Valley while 363 others were bailed out.
Refuting media reports, the spokesman said most of the students were released and only 31 students were in the custody in whole of the Valley. Giving details, the spokesman said in Srinagar, 134 students were arrested, out of which 122 were bailed out and only 12 were in custody. In Budgam, Ganderbal, Shopian, Kulgam, Kupwara and Sopore, 27,31, 22, 24, 24 and 8, respectively were arrested and all of them have been bailed out. Similarly, in district Pulwama, 14 were arrested, 13 bailed out and only one was in custody at present. In Awantipora, 12 were arrested, two were bailed out and 10 were in custody; in Baramulla 29 were arrested, 28 were bailed out and only one was in custody and in district Bandipora, seven students were arrested, five were bailed out and only two were in custody. Thus, he said, 394 students were arrested, and 363 have been bailed out leaving only 31 in custody in whole of the Valley at present.
