| Gandhi Jayanti week organised | | |

JAMMU, Sept 29: To commemorate Gandhi Jayanti Week, an extension lecture was organised in Government Degree College, Bishnah on the “Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy in present Era” today . The resource person, Prof. Rita Jitendra, a known literary figure of the state, narrated her experience of meeting the Mahatma at Jammu when he had visited the state in 1946. She deliberated on the present conflicting situation in the state in particular and the world in general. Earlier Prof. Veena Pandita, Principal of the college while welcoming Prof. Reeta Jitendra informed students that Jitendra is a repository of knowledge and an asset to the education dept. of J&K. She also stressed upon the students to follow the teachings of Gandhi in letter and spirit.
Earlier, the programme began with tribute to Gandhi by offering ‘Shradangli’. The programme came to an end with vote of thanks by Dr. Alka Sharma.
