Siraj Khankoot Dangal, a symbol of brotherhood, harmony

JAMMU, Sept 29: The usual feature of Siraj Khankoot Dangal in far flung area of Doda District was held wherein large number of people drawn from all walks of life witnessed the event.
The Khankoot Dangal is considered to be the symbol of peace, brotherhood and communal harmony as the area was worst affected by the militancy.
The management committee comprises both Hindu and Muslims, young and old who had made good arrangement for the guests and the wrestlers coming from outside district. Due to the neglected and inaccessible area of the district, Dangal is the only entertainment for the local people.
Prominent social activitist and senior journalist Naseer Khora was the chief guest while Ashiq Hussain Zargar and Abid Hassan Pampori were the special guest on the occasion.
Many wrestlers drawn from different parts of the district participated where as the final bout was played between Mohammad Hussain Gujar of Chilly Bhalessa at present Punjab and Ashiq Hussain, CRPF belonging to the same area which was won by Mohammad Hussain Gujar.
Speaking on the occasion Naseer Khora congratulated the organizing body for organizing the grand Dangal in their area with the message to bring peace and maintained the brotherly relation with each other.
Khora also appreciated the role of villagers by maintaining the centuries old cultural heritage, peace, harmony despite provocation from outside.
