Mandi treasury to benefit 50,000 people: Jan
Expresses gratitude to Omar, Rather for Cabinet nod

Poonch, Sept 29: Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather for mitigating long pending demand of the Mandi residents by approving Treasury,Member Legislative Assembly Poonch Ajaiz Ahmed Jan has said that the Treasury will benefit more than 50 thousand people of the area.
Issuing a press statement here, Jan said that he had put fourth this demand
before Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather who had assured for granting the same to the Mandi people.
He said that the demand was also discussed with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and both the leaders had given him assurance. “I am very thankful to whole cabinet especially CM and Finance Minister for mitigating the demand of the Mandi residents by giving us treasury”, he said.
Ajaiz Ahmed Jan has said that the residents of Mandi area had to travel 20 to 40 kilometers to reach Treasury at Poonch.
Following public demand, Jan said that he took the matter with concerned quarters and get it approved from the Cabinet on Tuesday. He said that atleast 50,000 people will be benefited with the opening of this Treasury. He said that employees were worst sufferer due to lack of any Treasury in Mandi area and now they need not to worry.
National Conference leader said that Chief Minister has never turned down any demand of the Poonch residents and government is keen in the development of the area. He said that although the Chief Minister has to tackle situation in Valley, he is very particular in the matter that developmental activities in this area should not suffer. “We have been much more and there are some projects in pipeline which may be announced in near future for the development of the Poonch area”, Jan said adding that he is striving hard to work in tourism and agriculture sector besides he is striving hard to get more road projects for the area. “I hope government will continue to cooperate me in future”, he added.
