| Prof Gauthier conclude visit to JU | | |

Jammu, Sept 29: Prof P.M. Gauthier of University of Monteral of Canada, visited the department of mathematics, University of Jammu for a period of two weeks, concluded his visit today. Prof. Gauthier visited the department under the programme “A mathematician in Residence”. Under this programmes, one or two eminent mathematicians form within the courtry or abroad are invited for a period of one to two weeks. During this period he interacts with researchers and establishes academic relations and delivered a series of lectures in the department and interacted with the faculty members, research scholars and students of the department. As per press release with his visit, a new era of collaborative research between two universities has began. Apart from delivering lecturer in sister department of mathematics, govt M.A.M P.G. college and at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. A Memorandum of understanding has recently been signed between University of Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and this is a first step in giving a practical shape to this memorandum.
