Symposium on “New Blood for the World” held at MAM College | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 29: The NSS unit of Govt. MAM College both Morning and Evening shifts organized a symposium on the topic “New Blood for the World.” H.O.D blood transfusion and medicines govt. medical college Dr. T.R Raina, chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Raina focused on the importance of blood donation more especially by the youth. He cleared many doubts and myths about blood donation and also told the students that the blood is like a liquid love which is shared by everyone without taking into consideration caste, creed, colour and religion. A number of questions were asked by the volunteers, which were answered by Dr Raina in simiple and effective manners. Dr. Ajeet Angral, Principal of the College presided over the function and highlighted the contributin of both morning and evening NSS units of the college for the welfare of the humanity. He advised the volunteers to carry the message of significance of blood donation to each and every corner of the region. About fifteen volunteers presented their papers and Ishtiaq Ahmed of B.A Part-I and Sanjeet Bhagat of BA Part-III and Ansul Gupta of B.A Part-I were adjudged 1st, 2nd, & 3rd respectively by the members of jury consisting of Dr. YP Kundal, Dr. I.A Khan and Prof. Cheering Tundup. Prof. Hans Raj, NSS programme officer compared the entire proceedings of the programme, while Dr. Subash Chander Sharma, NSS programme officer presented the vote of thanks.
