| Centre grants Rs 100 cr assistance to J&K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
new delhi, Sept 29: The Centre has granted sanction of Rs. 100 crore announced at the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting, as part of the peace package for Jammu and Kashmir.
"The grant under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) is meant for schools and colleges for improvement and additions to their existing infrastructure such as class rooms, auditorium, library, playgrounds and toilet complex etc," said the Union Home Ministry on Wednesday.
The concerned authorities have been instructed to release funds immediately to the State Government who are expected to release the same to the implementing agencies without any delay, according to the Ministry.
The centre has also advised the J and K State Government to constitute a Committee to determine eligibility of the families to whom ex-gratia relief is to be given for those killed in the civil disturbances since June 11.
The Centre in its package had announced grant of ex-gratia relief to the families of the deceased persons at the rate of Rs. 5 lakh per person.
This expenditure will be reimbursed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. |
