4-wkt win for Bala Chak in Friendship T20 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, September 30: Sailing on superb innings played by Billa, Abhay and Rajan helped Bala Chak Cricket Club register a four-wicket win over Satrian Sattowali Cricket Club to reach the next round of pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing Friendship Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Bana Singh Stadium, R S Pura, today. Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Satrian Club made 108 runs losing all their wickets in 18.4 overs. Bunty and Balbir Singh were the main scorers with 28 and 23 runs respectively. Extras contributed highest 36 runs to the team’s total. From Bala Chak, Abhay and Rajan bowled well taking away three wickets each while Surinder bagged one. Batting second, Bala Chak Club reached the required target of 109 runs in 13.2 overs for the loss of six wickets. Billa played a gutsy innings of 33 runs which later fetched him man of the match trophy also. Ghara also chipped in with 25 runs. For Satrian Club, Parveen and Kala scalped two wickets each. Today’s match was officiated by Jagtar Singh, Suresh Singh, Pankaj Sasun and Madan Mohan under the supervision of Virender Sharma and Naveen Sharma. The month-long tournament in which over 40 teams drawn from Tehsil RS Pura are taking part is being organised by the J&K State Sports Council.
