| PG boxers dominate in inter-college meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 30: Senior boxers from Post Graduate Departments of University of Jammu (JU) dominated the opening day of the two-day annual inter-college boxing competitions, organised by Department of Sports and Physical Education, JU at Gulshan Ground here today.
In the preliminary rounds of different weight groups, PG boxers had maximum number in the semi-finals. Now, the semi-finals and the finals shall be played tomorrow at the same venue.
A big number of 75 boxers turned up for the competition representing 14 affiliated colleges of the JU.
Earlier, the competitions were declared open by Head of the Department of Economics, JU, Prof Jasbir Singh, who was special guest. He was accompanied by Director Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau and other officials of the Department.
Today’s bouts were officiated by Sanjeev Jamwal, Raj Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Aman Sangral, Vikas Narwalia and Sunil Sharma.
