| Gandhi Nagar police arrests cycle lifter. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER

For the first time, Gandhi Nagar police has arrested a cycle lifter who was active in this profession for the last many years and also recovered some cycles from his possession.
According to sources, having booked consistent complaints of cycle thefts for quite some time, Gandhi Nagar police started a hunt operation to nab the convict. Police under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar, Gian Chand Sharma planted cycles at different places and caught the thief red-handedly while he was stealing the cycle.
Police sources said he has been identified as Surinder Kumar S/O Sansar Chand, R/O Gandey, Talli Morh during the interrogation where he confessed his crime of cycle thefts at different places in Jammu. He also confessed that he used to sale the cycles and parts of cycles to shopkeepers and youths at low prices.
Police has also recovered a large number of cycles from different hideouts established by him. A large number of recoveries are being expected to be made from him as the interrogation was on till the last reports came in.
