Banquet hall owners call on CCI chief | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 30: The delegation of the Banquet Hall Owners called on the President Chamber of Commerce and Industry Y.V. Sharma and briefed him about the problems being faced by them. They apprised him that their case was pending in the High Court. They expressed anxiety that the people who have booked the halls for marriage ceremonies and other functions were panicky in view of the decision to be pronounced by the High Court. Banquet Halls are employing thousands of employees which are all locals. The Banquet Hall owners requested the President Chamber of Commerce & Industry that ``we must approach to the government and request the Dy. Chief Minister to suggest such recommendations which can be honoured by the Banquet Hall Owners’’. Banquet Hall Owners also suggested that all the existing Banquet Halls should be allowed to continue their operations and all those conditions which are agreed after discussions be laid down for the new Banquet Halls which are yet to come up, those conditions should be applied strictly. Banquet Hall Owners were of the opinion that such conditions be created by which those who have booked their ceremonies with the Banquet Halls will not be put to any inconvenience. Banquet Hall Owners requested the President to seek an appointment with the Deputy Chief Minister (Minister In-charge for Housing and Urban Development) so that the issue can be placed before him in proper perspective.
