Natrang staging grand show of Ghumayee on Oct. 3

Jammu, Sept 30: Natrang Jammu is going to present the grand show of the internationally acclaimed Dogri play ‘Ghumayee’ on Sunday at 6 pm at Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.
The show is being organised by Jammu Links in association with 92.7 BIG FM, Jammu. Written and directed by Balwant Thakur, this globally renowned play has the honor for being selected to be presented in the Commonwealth Games-2010. This pride of Jammu will feature in Commonwealth Games on October 7 with multi-lingual (English-German-Russian-Chinese) sub titles.
Briefing about this, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur informed that the Sunday show of Jammu is part of the celebration of Jammu’s cultural accomplishments as this play has created a history by taking Dogri culture to over the audience of seventy countries. The grand show being presented on October 3 at Zorawar Singh Auditorium is likely to have pack house audience. ‘Ghumayee has already been successfully presented in Russia, Germany, Hungary and Poland and has now been short listed for middle-east countries.
“Ghumayee” is a play based on Dogri folk tale of a hilly village and opens with a vidai scene after the solemnization of marriage and bride is being carried in a 'Doli' to her in-law’s place.
The lead performers of the play include Suresh Kumar, Neeraj Kant, Vikrant Sharma, Tajasvi Sharma, Renu Kumari, Sumeet Sharma, Dimple Sharma, Sajra Qadir, Pawan Verma, Mohit Sharma, Rohit Verma, Rahul Singh, Pankush Verma, Mayank Bakshi, Ashfaq Anwar, Mohd Yaseen and Gauri Thakur. The music of the play is done by Suraj Singh who also appears on stage as an actor.
