First phase of Guldev Raj’s The Birds completed

Jammu, Oct 1: The first phase of the mission ‘The Birds ‘ has been completed in which bird lover Guldev Raj noticed about 175 species of birds and clicked 22,000 pictures. All the bird species were launched during the inaugural function of four-day long Birds Photo Exhibition today at Kala Kendra, organised by The Udaan, a wildlife Organisation in collaboration with J&K Academy of Arts, Culture and languages on the wildlife week celebration.
Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal was the chief guest who inaugurated the exhibition and launched the collection calendar of 175 birds species , clicked by Guldev Raj. The exhibition will remain open from 11 am to 6 pm everyday till October 4.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Divisional Commissioner appreciated the efforts of Guldev Raj, who clicked the pictures of birds in odd circumstances and has presented before the public in a beautiful way which the people missed sofar. He said that young generation will definetely get inspiration from the work of Guldev Raj.
Dr. Kotwal assured that every possible assistance will be provided to Raj to complete his mission.
Upendra Pachnanda, Conservator of Forest (wildlife) and Savita Bakshi, Addl. Secretary of JKAACL were the guest of honour. , greatly impressed by the photographs. Special Guest, Social Worker Nand Kishore Mishra said that state government should come forward and support this man with a mission.
It may be pertinent mentioning here The Birds was started six years ago by Guldev Raj. First phase has been completed in which he has recorded about 175 species, including yellow footed pigeon . He has brought awareness among the masses to conserve the Gharana wetland which is shrinking day by day. Dr Arvinder Aman, additional. Secretary, JKAACL and Dr Randeep Singh Parihar, Wildlife warden Tahir Shawl, Balwan Singh, Rajesh, Kulbushan, Satish Kumar, Savtantra sharma, Rajesh Kesri were also present in the programme.
