YMP adopts 13 children of Leh flood hit | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 1: To provide helping to the victims of Leh flash flood tragedy, Youth Movement for Peace (YMP) has adopted 13 children of victim families of tragedy. Addressing media persons here today, Vikas Sharma, chairman, YMP informed that nine members of the organisation recently visited Leh and conducted a survey . He “said it was unfortunate that neither victims have any household articles nor get adequate relief from the administration. “In order to provide helping hands and contribute for Leh tragedy victims, YMP adopted 13 students with an aim to provide them better and quality education”, he said, informing, “Out of 135 children are with YMP in Jammu as family members of Sunehra Kal- a home for affected children and YMP provided them good and quality education to make them responsible citizens of India”. Sharma said, ‘YMP will give them perfect shape by exploring their hidden talent”. He also informed that during their visit they also distributed relief material comprising warm clothes--- jackets, sweaters, shawls, socks, trousers, gloves, ladies suits, shirts, t-shirts etc in different affected areas of Leh tragedy. When asked about what sort development work going on Leh to rehabilitate victims, he said, “As far as the development works to rehabilitate the victims are concerned, we see that nothing tangible measures are going on in affected areas”. ‘In this connection, YMP deputation has called on concerning authorities and appealed authorities to provide adequate relief and rehabilitate them on time”, he mentioned. Ranjana Sharma, vice-chairman YMP, Rekha Sharma, general secretary, YMP, Gagandeep Singh, secretary, Sangeeta Off. Adm, Meenakshi Kour, Sanna Khan, Shashank, Karanveer, Huma Khan, Neeraj were also present in the press conference.
