Several tourism projects taken up under PMRP | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 1 : Under the Prime Ministers Reconstruction Programme (PMRP), development of Lakhanpur-Bani-Basohli-Sarthal tourist circuit in Jammu region has been taken up at a cost of Rs 7.99 crore.
The centre has released Rs 6.39 crore till date for its development.
This information was given by Minister of State for TourismNasir Aslam Wani in reply to a question by Lal Chand in the Legislative Assembly here today. He said that ending August this year Rs 4.7 crore have been incurred on the development of infrastructure of varied sorts under the circuit and added that construction of Art Development Centre, Basohli and Tourist Development Centre at Sarthal have been completed. He said the work of viewing corridor, Basohli, wayside amenities at Bhoond and Tourist Complex Bani are in progress. The minister said that construction of tourist complex at Bani is in progress and so far over Rs 2.19 crore have been incurred on its execution. Replying to another question by Krishan Chand Bhagat, the minister said that development work of health resort Mantalai and other adjoining areas has been entrusted to Patnitop Development Authority, adding, all the tourist resorts of the areas would be developed in a phased-manner after formulation of detailed project report. Replying to supplementaries raised by Harshdev Singh, Jagdish Sapolia, Ashwani Kumar Sharma and Balwant Singh Mankotia, the minister said that the remaining tourist resorts falling in their respective constituencies would also be developed. He said that the construction work of Jammu Cable Car Project would be completed with one and a half years.
