Panun Kashmir resent center’s 8-point programme | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 1: Convener of Panun Kashmir Dr. Agnishekhar today thanked Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) in USA and UK for holding awareness programmes internationally in order to highlight government of India’s soft and unjustified response to the recent events in Kashmir. In a handout issued here today, Dr. Agnishekhar expressed displaced Kashmiri Pandit community’s appreciation to all Panun Kashmir activists, associate Kashmiri Pandit organizations and OFBJP in USA and UK for plans to organize massive demonstration-cum-awareness programmes on October 2, 2010 in Washington and London. In a telephonic conversation with representatives of the organizers of the demonstration in USA, Dr. Agnishekhar conveyed to them that Panun Kashmir’s had issued directives to its activists in both the countries for ensuring the programmes are successful and serve the purpose of putting across the Indian Diaspora’s general disagreement of Prime Minister’s handling of Kashmir. The organizers of the events conveyed to the Dr. Agnishekhar that protests at both in Washington as well as London will be led by displaced Kashmiri Pandit children, who will urge the government of India to restore their legitimate rights in their ancestral homeland. These children will convey to the government their longing for their homeland and deprivations from being forced to remain away from their culture, language, ancestral heritage and religious customs and rituals. The organizers also informed Dr. Agnishekhar that a memorandum will be presented to Indian Ambassador and High Commissioner in Washington and London respectively. The memorandum will express international Indian community’s reservations against the eight point programme announced by the central government recently for Kashmir.
