Jammu medico deliberates on clinical pharmacology at national CMEs | | |
Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 1: A renowned medico of the State Dr Vishal R Tandon, who is currently serving at Consultant in GMC Jammu, has recently attended two national CMEs on Clinical Pharmacology as Chief Key Resource Person/ Expert. These CMEs cum workshops were organizsd and conducted by the prestigious institutions including Gandhian Institute of India (MGIMS) Sevegaram, Wardha and Medical Education Technology Unit of Medical College NKP SIMS & RC Nagpur. Dr Tandon shared, conducted and delivered his expert clinical research and innovative ideas started for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research. He also told about the experiences of recent initiatives started by him and Dr Zahid Gillani (Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology). Teaching and research module developed and proposed by Dr Vishal R Tandon stressed on the need to develop one system of Innovation in Teaching and Training of UGs and PGs in medical colleges, which contains conventional-Theoretical and Experimental/clinical Teaching blended with a system of teaching. With J&K perspective, he stressed upon a need to have separate Clinical Research Department in Govt Medical College, Jammu to equate national and international standards of Clinical Research from State of Jammu and Kashmir. It would also provide Self Employment to many within and outside sate of J&K. This shall go a long way for reducing cost presently spend for clinical research, for which presently premier institute like, IIIM Jammu who are producing drug molecules but presently dependent on outside institutes for generating clinical research. This shall help J&K to become independent in Drug Development and research, thereby having socioeconomic impact in state with medical upliftment of people of J&K.
