| 3 lakh paid obeisance at Shiv Khori | | | REASI, OCTOBER 28 (INFO)- Three lakh pilgrims from within the state and various parts of the country paid obeisance at the historic Shiv Khori Shrine in Pouni block of Udhampur district till last evening. This was disclosed by the Sub Divisional Magistrate Reasi, Mr. Ajeet Kumar Sahu who is also the Member Secretary of the Shiv Khori Shrine Development Board. While going through the previous records of the visiting pilgrims during the year 2004 and 2005, it was observed that over 1,94,488 devotees had darshan of Shiv Khori cave during this period in 2004 while over 2,58,401 devotees had darshan during the same period in 2005 thus registering an increase of 1.6 lakh as comparasion to 2004 and 42,000 as compared to 2005 respectively. With the concerted efforts of Shiv Khori Shrine Development Board is making all out efforts are being made to provide more and more facilities for the visiting pilgrims. The construction of 3 storied waiting hall building with office, clock room, waiting hall with provision for store facilities is shortly being taken up and for the purpose tenders have already been called. An amount of Rs. 1.66 crore would be spent on its construction. The work of toilet blocks, bridge, tuck shop, two rain shelter sheds, finishing and protection of the new exit cave, plantation of ornamental plants and fencing have been taken in hand. During the first 27 days of the current month, over 18,000 devotees had darshan of the cave and presently 1200 to 1500 devotees are visiting the shrine daily.
