T20: Tarun scripts 10-wkt win for RS XI

JAMMU, October 02: A splendid knock of 30-ball 61 runs from Tarun Gupta today guided RS Pura XI to an outright 10-wicket win over Gharana Cricket Club (GCC) in the ongoing Friendship Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament under the banner of State Sports Council at Bana Singh Stadium, RS Pura today.
Earlier, RS Pura XI won the toss and opted to field thereby restricted GCC to a moderate total of 82 runs losing seven wickets. Nishant and Ravi were the only batsmen who touched the double figure mark contributing 14 and 13 runs to the total respectively. From RS XI, Manni was pick of the bowlers, who claimed three wickets giving away 18 runs in four overs. Lucky also bowled well and bagged two for 15 runs.
Later, chasing a target of 83 runs, it took R S Pura XI overs only 8.3 overs to overhaul the opponent total. Tarun Gupta played brilliant innings of 61 runs off mere 30 deliveries. Tarun was obvious choice for the man of the match trophy.

Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Rangpur Cricket Club defeated Baze Chak
Cricket Club by three wickets to move into the third round.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Rangpur opted to field. Batting first, Baze Chak scored 102 runs losing all their wickets in 18.5 overs with Soni and Mohinder remained main scorers with 21 and 10 runs in their respective accounts. Extras contributed highest 44 runs. Deepu was wrecker-in-chief for Rangpur, who took three important wickets while
Gurmeet and Arjun bagged two and one wicket respectively.
In reply, Rangpur CC chased the target in 17.1 overs by losing seven wickets. Ravi made 29 ball 29 runs while Deepak scored 23 runs facing 21 balls. The partnership between Ravi and Deepak helped Rangpur to win the game convincingly.
Ranjeet claimed two wickets while Soni took one wicket for Baze Chak Cricket Club. Deepak was adjudged man of the match for his all-round display.
