| JKPSSP holds annual general body meet | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 3: The 16th annual general body meeting of J&K Poorva Sainik Sewa Parishad was held here, today, under the presidentship of Brig (retd) S S Saini in which over 100 delegates, including all district presidents, tehsil/block presidents, office bearers and active members participated
The members also raised various issues including one rank one pension is not a question of money but logic and reasoning whereby all soldiers putting in same length of service in similar conditions deserve equal treatment, drawbacks in implementation of E.C.H.S were highlighted and remedial measures suggested, efforts to exempt VAT from CSD(I) items was taken up with the Government.
During the meeting, a resolution for not diluting the AFSPA was passed. Brig. S S Saini, in his address, stressed upon the members to remain vigilant and keep abreast with the latest developments of our region so that we could counter the ill designs of anti-social elements and enemy agents.
Col. K.S. Juneja, National Secretary who has returned after a fourteen days ‘Parvas’ at Siliguri (WB) informed that a unit has been raised and Akhil Bhartiya General Body Meeting will be held on November 26, at Siliguri (WB). The members also paid homage to martyrs soldiers of last one years.
A detailed progress report of activities undertaken during the year 2009-2010 was presented by General Secretary Lt. Col. K N Raina.
Among others who attended the meeting were Brig Suchet Singh, Col. V S Mangotra, Capt Parshotam Sharma, Sub Durga Prasad, Nk Karan Singh, Capt Govind Singh and others.
