Pensioners hold rally ,criticize Govt’s delaying tactics | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 3: The J&K pensioners association criticized the delaying tactics of the state government with holding the arrears of 6th pay commission and release of two pending DA instalment from Janurary 2009 to June 2009 and 10% DA released recently in favour of centre government employees. Leaders of the association which addressing the protestors said for the last two years pensioners have been struggling hard for the genuine demands, which till date has not been met. They said government increase the salary of legislators three times plus additional perks and Rs. 1000 medical allowances. Leaders warned the government not put the senior citizens for further struggle. They appealed to the pensioners of the state to be united and asked them to enroll their names for the membership, so that association should fight against the government. The meeting was presided over by Romesh Chander Gupta. Others leaders who addressed the rally were Mukand Lal Sharma, Madan Lal Abrol, Sardari Lal Bharti, BR Baru, KK Sharma, SS Abrol, Prof. BL. Bhardwaj, KK Sharma, Dr. Virender Mahajan, SK Jain etc. Madan Lal Abrol general secretary of the association said during speech that the arrears of revision of pension with effect from January 1st, 2006 be paid in one instalment in respect of state pensioners and Rs 1000 as medical allowances.
