Seminar on Gandhian philosophy, globalization held GDC Paloura | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 3: A provincial level elocution contest was organized at government degree college Paloura in collaboration with Gandhian centre for peace and conflict sutidies, Jammu university and state information department to mark the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on the topic “Gandhian Philosophy and Globalisation” Twenty participants from various degree colleges of the state and PG departments of the Jammu university took part in it. Prof. Bhupinder Singh, Principal GCET was the chief guest, prof. Indira Rathore, Prof. Dr. Anil Goel, Mrs Shakuntala Joshi were the judges who judged the candidates for their presentations. Prof. Anurag Gangal, director Gandhian centre enlightened the audience about the relevance of Gandhian Philosophy and globalization in the contemporary times. Prof Goel, former principal of GDC Paloura stressed upon the need of implementation of Gandhian values and discussed Gandhi as complete institution in himself and not a person or personality. Prof. Hemla Agarwal, principal of GDC Paloura thanked judged and dignitaries present on the occasion. Prizes were announced and first, second and third positions were bagged by Zain-ul-Aabdeen of political science department of Jammu university, Rakshit Sharma of GGM science college and Mahima Sharma of GCW, Kathua respectively. Consolation prizes were also announced to Huma Khan of SPMR college of commerce, Aneeta Sharma of GCW Udhampur, Ishrat Feroz of GDC Paloura, Sophia Sharma of the Law School of Jammu university, Tanvi Bhargava of government MAM College, Priya Sahni of GGM science college, evening, Kiran Kumar of Gandhian centre for peace and conflict, Jammu university, Pirayati Sharma of GCW, Gandhi Nagar and Shefali Dabgotra of Hindi department Jammu university.
