| Jammu dominates in volleyball, kabaddi | | Inter-division competition of DYSS | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 04: On the opening day of the annual state level inter-division competitions, Jammu boys and girls dominated in both the events of under-19 volleyball and kabaddi underway at Youth Hostel Nagrota, near here today.
Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), these competitions are being held on best of three basis. It will be out of this meet that state boys and girls teams in both volleyball and kabaddi would be finalized by the Department for the forthcoming National School Games.
In volleyball, Jammu boys trounced Kashmir Division 2-1 with set score reads as 25-22, 24-26, 15-08. Similarly, in girls section, Jammu Division defeated Kashmir Division by straight sets of 25-16, 25-14.
Later, in boys kabaddi match, Jammu Division beat their counterparts from Kashmir by a big margin of 18 (45-27) points. However, in girls section, Kashmir Division failed to field the team.
Earlier, the two-day competition was declared open by Deputy Director DYSS, S S Bali, who was chief guest in the opening function.
