| Court grants police remand to Patwari in graft case | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 4: Special Judge Anti-corruption, Jammu, AK Koul today remanded police custody for five days Patwari Krishan Lal, Halqa Tulli, Bana Tehsil, Mahore District Reasi who was caught red-handed on October 2 while accepting bribe of Rs 5000 from the complainant.
Today an application was moved by IO Inspector Kuljeet Singh with prayer that accused Krishan Lal s/o Sita Ram r/o Village Chasana Tehsil Mahore District Reasi Patwari Halqa Tulli Bana be remanded to police custody for a period of five days. The accused was present in custody, The IO has submitted CD file for perusal.
Special Judge Anti-corruption, Jammu, A.K. Koul after hearing Senior Prosecuting Officer appearing for VOJ and perused the medical record of accused, CD file and the application, the accused has been booked in FIR No 26/2010 of P/S VOJ u/s 5(2) PC Act 2006 r/w section 161 RPC, after being caught red-handed along with the bribe amount of Rs 5000/-. He has been arrested on October 2, 2010 and has been submitted by senior PO VOJ that certain aspects of the case need to be investigated in the light of facts alleged by the complainant. Keeping in view the seriousness of the matter and the stage of investigation, the Court felt that the detention of accused in police custody is necessary for facilitate for completion of investigation as earliest and granted five days police remand for further investigation.
