Sadbhavna tour to Uttrakhand for elderly conducted | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 4: A Sadbhavna tour to Uttrakhand (Dev Bhumi) for elderly citizens is being conducted by Keri Battalion under the aegis of the Ace of Spades Division from Oct 4 to Oct 15. The tour was flagged off by Cdr Bhimber Gali Brigade. The aim of this tour is to spread the message of peace and harmony. This motivational tour for the people of remote area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir is to instill a sense of awareness, spread the message of national integration and provide an exposure to the elderly citizens about the pace of economic development and the way of life in other parts of country. The duration of the tour is of twelve days. 25 senior citizens from the remote area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir along with representatives of the Keri Battalion have been afforded an opportunity by the Army to visit some of the best known institutions of India like the Indian Military Academy and Forest Research Institute of India and also to interact with people out side J&K. The elderly citizens will also be getting opportunity to interact with the Governor of Uttarakhand besides senior officers of the Army. A concerted effort has been put in by Army to expose the senior citizens to the boons of an advanced society outside the state of J&K and also provide them with a glimpse of industrial, religious and historically important places.
