Wild life week celebration at women’s college Parade | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 5: Science club of Govt. College for women, Parade in collaboration with J&K state council for science and technology, is organizing wild life week celebration. Dr. Kiran Bakshi, Principal, GCW Parade was the chief guest and Dr. O.P Sharma Vidhyarathi, was the guest of honour on the inaugural function. Dr. Bakshi, in her inaugural address urged upon all to put efforts to save the species which are going to be extinct so as to give a beautiful world to the coming generations. While Dr. Sharma highlighted the importance of the day and said that the need of the hour is to protect wild life by creating awareness among the youth about the importance of the animals in maintaining the ecosystem and saving their habitat. In the welcome address, convener of the science club Dr.Gayatri Langer gave details about the events which will be organized during the wild life week and highlighted the objectives of the events of the celebrations. In the first day of events, signature campaign regarding wild life protection was held in the college premises. In the power point presentation 12 students participated on the topics man Animal Conflicts, Threatened Species and Wild Life Conservation. A Plantation Technique competition and a spiritual lecture on ‘Clean the mind and green the earth’ were delivered by Suman Behanji of Bram Kumari’s Educational Wing, Mount Abu, and Rajasthan. Assistant Director, Science and Technology Dr.Sunita Razdan, members of the Science club and staff members were present on the occasion; votes of thanks were delivered by prof. Mala Bhasin. Porgramme was compeered by Ekta, students of B.Sc Part-II.
