Uncertainty looms large among KAS aspirants

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Leh, Oct 4: Thousands of ‘dedicated’ KAS aspirants, mostly from Jammu and Leh who could not qualify the recently declared state level civil services’ mains examination, are now-a-days grappled with one question, "what to do next?"
Unfortunately the failure comes to them not due to their poor performance but due to alleged unfairness in the process of examination and later in the results being adopted by Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC).
Most of the aspirants alleged that it was obvious that the candidates performed well but were kept out of race deliberately on the ‘instructions’ of some of the JKPSC officials. The aggrieved students said that they will not tolerate the undemocratic and autocratic decision which the JKPSC imposed on them. Today thousands of such aspirants are protesting in their own way to scribe out the recently declared result. One of the options they want to choose is to go for legal remedy.
Many such candidates who were sure of their success are now in the state of distress and questioning about the fairness of the result and seek an independent inquiry into the fairness of the result. "We are all law abiding citizens of this country who never took law in our hand instead we got step motherly treatment by the state government by having more selections from the valley while completely ignoring Jammu and Leh," said Zaheer from Leh.
“Its very hard to accept the result for all those who have given their years of hard work in achieving their goal but due to faulty system instead of success the JKPSC gave them dissatisfaction and mental distress. Now they are fighting for justice.
It is high time the authorities should realize the importance of all the three regions alike and redress the grievances without delay. The authorities should respect the sentiments of all the deserving candidates without compelling them to resort to stone pelting.” he added
