| Basketball: PG faces Kathua women in final | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 5: The combined side of Post Graduate Departments shall face the title holders, Government College for Women (GCW) Parade in the final tomorrow in the inter-college women’s basketball tournament underway at Gymnasium Hall of the University of Jammu, here.
Earlier, in the semi-final, played today, PG women trounced the visiting side of Government Degree College Kathua 45-13. PG dominated the court throughout to emerge winner with a comfortable margin of 32 points. Natasha was top scorer from PG while Neha and Amit contributed nine points each.
Surprisingly, the other side of GCW Parade reached the final without playing even a single match. All the three teams of Dental College Sehora, Trikuta Degree College and GGM Science College (evening) in Parade College group failed to report the venue thus making mockery of the prestigious inter-college competitions.
Only four teams turned up for the competition out of eight entries received by the Department of Sports and Physical Education. Another team missing the event was Dogra Law College.
Today’s semi-final was officiated by Aman Sharma, Mohd Shafi and Harpreet Singh.
