| Court grants bail to alleged narcotic smuggler | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 5: Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu, G.K. Pandita has granted bail to alleged narcotic smuggler Bhupinder Singh r/o Juallandhar, Punjab who was arrested by the police on September 10 in NDPS Act.
Court after hearing Adv MU Salaria appearing for the applicant and Additional Public Prosecutor Vijay Sharma for the state observed that 13 kg is admittedly in between small quantity and commercial quantity whereas the petitioner is in custody and the report of the police itself suggest that investigation in the case is complete as such the presence of the accused in the investigation is not required for the purpose of the investigation.
With these observations, Court allowed the application of bail and directed that the petitioner shall furnish bail and personal bond to the tune of Rs 30,000 each and cash bail to the tune of Rs 8000/-.He shall be released from police lock-up. JNF
