KPs demand reservation in employment | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 5: Expressing concern over plight of Kashmiri migrants, Kashmiri Pandits today demanded reservation in the employment for the youth belonging to their community. In a meeting held here today, members of two organizations - All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) and state unit of Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) said that the number of educated unemployed youth is increasing with each passing day. Meeting was held at Mishriwala. Since very few KPs are getting employment, the miseries of community are increasing and in such a situation, the only way out to the problem is to provide reservation in employment to the community, they said. They also demanded scholarship of Rs. 3000 per month for KP students up to class 12th so that the children of community can continue their studies during prevailing critical situation. Demanding compensation for the properties they left at their native places, they said that the orchardists and agriculturists have suffered great loss during last twenty years. They demanded enhancement of relief from present Rs. 5000 to Rs.12000 keeping in view prices of essential items. Present on the occasion included President AMCCC- Desh Rattan, Chand Ji, Kaka Ji Bhan, Sat Pal Sharma, Ashok Kumar Bhat, Satish Pajnoo, P.N. Pandit, Sheela Handooo, and B.L. Pandita.
