Pak ultras in wait for opportune moment to enter | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 5: Hours after Musharraf admitted that Pakistan was training and pushing militants into the state to keep the pot boiling, army today said ultras were waiting for an opportune moment to cross over into Jammu and Kashmir to give impetus to the hitherto flagging militancy. Various groups of militants were camping along the Line of Control (LoC) in wait for an opportunity to sneak into the state, an army officer said. These militants belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami (HUJI) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), he added. "Militants, positioned along the LoC, are making desperate attempts everyday to cross the border. There are eight to nine militants in each group who keep attempting to get a chance to sneak into our territory," the officer said. He said once they failed to succeed at one place due to high alertness of Indian troops, they immediately moved to other locations to make fresh attempts. There were a large number of militants on the other side of the border who were trained and heavily armed, he said, adding "Our troops are alert and vigilant to foil their designs." "Pakistan security forces are clearly involved in supporting terrorist activities to create insecurity in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in Jammu region," he said. |
