| Six youth detained for questioning in Srinagar | | |
SRINAGAR, OCT 29
Six persons were rounded up for questioning by security forces today from the Jamia Masjid area here, sparking off protests by locals who demanded they be set free, official sources said.
Six youth were taken into custody for questioning for their alleged militant links during a raid by Special Operations Group of the local police at Gojwara locality area in the wee hours today, sources said.
Relatives and neighbours of those arrested staged a demonstration and blocked the road for several hours shouting slogans against the police, sources said.
The protestors dispersed only after being assured by a senior police officer that the youth would be set free if found innocent. |
