NSF opposes center’s 8-point formula | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 6: National Sikh Front (NSF) today strongly opposed and rejected the center’s 8 point programme for addressing the ongoing violence across Kashmir valley. Addressing media persons here today, NSF chairman Varinder Jeet Singh said that the formula is aimed at helping the state government and separatists in Kashmir valley. He said that the formula would in no way guarantee peace or solution of Kashmir problem. “8-Point formula says nothing about the minorities living in Kashmir valley. On one side Centre Govt is planning to give jobs and rehabilitating Kashmiri Pandits back in Kashmir and on the other hand, are ignoring minorities who are living in Kashmir valley,” he said while adding that due to ongoing violence in Kashmir, a good number of Sikhs have left valley and migrated to safer places. He said that the transporters who carry the material to Kashmir valley and Leh are constantly being attacked. He expressed concern over non-implementation of written agreement reached between Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti and the state government in the year 2008. Stating that All party delegation did not give them time, he said that even then, they managed to submit a detailed memorandum to the delegation seeking establishment of minority commission in J&K, settlement of refugees of 1947, more powers to the army and three separate regional councils for permanent peace in the state. President NSF Kulwant Singh Bhatti, General Secretary S. Harvinder Singh, S.Ranjit Singh, S.Gurtej Singh and others were also present in the press conference.
