Ajay guides Badyal Brahmana Club to quarterfinals

JAMMU, Oct 06: All round performance from Ajay Sharma today guided Lower Badyal Brahmana Cricket Club to a fine 43 runs victory over R S Pura XI to reach the quarterfinals round in the ongoing Twenty20 Friendship Cricket Tournament at Bana Singh Stadium, R S Pura.
Earlier, batting first after R S Pura won the toss and opted to field, Badyal Brahmana set a big target of 124 runs. In reply, R S Pura could not chase the total and the whole bowled out for 80 runs in 15.4 overs.
Ajay was top scorer with 33-ball 36 runs while Pankaj Sasun contributed 30 runs. From R S Pura, Deepak and Sunny shared two wickets each while Mani took one.
Batting second, R S Pura XI bowled out for 80 runs in 15.4 overs. Dheeraj and Govind were main scorers with 21 and 20 runs respectively. Pankaj Sasun and Ajay Sharma were most successful bowlers from Lower Badyal Brahamana with three wickets each. Rajan bagged two wickets.
For his match winning innings, Ajay Sharma was obvious choice for the man of the match trophy.
In this match, Sub-Divisional Magistrate R S Pura, Ashwani Khajuria was special guest who interacted with both the teams and witnessed the game.
Tare Chak XI in QFs

Meanwhile, Tare Chak XI also made it into the last eight stages of quarterfinals outplaying Tally XI by 26 runs today. Batting first, Tare Chak made 138 runs for the loss of five wickets. Ravi was top scorer with 56 runs while Dainy contributed 17. From Tally Club, Dilawar, Tarsem, Lucky and Ranjeet shared one wicket each.
Later, Tally XI could not chase the 139 runs target and lost all their wickets for 112 runs with Balu and Dilawar being main scores, who contributed 24 and 22 runs respectively. From Tare Chak Club, Dainy and Ravi bagged two wickets each. For his all-round performance, Ravi was adjudged man of the match.
Today’s matches were officiated by Jagtar Singh, Suresh Singh, Madan Mohan and Pankaj Sasun.
