| COPS thrash MES ENGINEER, RETIRED PRINCIPAL | | |

In a bizarre incident, police cops allegedly thrashed Junior engineer of Military engineering services (MES) along with his father, a retired school Principal with hockey sticks on late Saturday night in RS Pura.
Reports said, ManMohan Singh,a Junior Engineer of MES and his father Sewa Singh, a retired school principal were allegedly beaten up by police cops when the duo came out of the house of ManMohan’s Wife Sunita on Saturday evening.
At present, both father and son are admitted in Emergency ward of the Government medical college and are undergoing treatment.
ManMohan Singh when contacted alleged that brother of Sunita, Vijay Choudhary, who is working as Sub Inspector with CID wing of Jammu and Kashmir police had attacked them along with few other cops with hockey sticks while they were returning home after meeting Sunita.
Family sources said the duo had gone there to meet Sunita and to persuade her to return home.
Sunita was living in her maternal house for sometime. Both ManMohan Singh and Sunita were married since last three years but were not enjoying marital bliss due to some extraneous reasons.
Family members of Sunita had also leveled charges of dowry against Manmohan Singh and his father Sewa Singh.
Police has also registered a case against the duo for demanding dowry and investigations are going on. Ironcially , no case of physical assault on ManMohan Singh and Sewa Singh was booked by police till the time of filing the report. DIG Jammu Niaz Mehmood said an inquiry has been ordered and policemen involved in the alleged beating of MES engineer have been attached.
Col Gurdayal Singh of MES said several attempts made by them to establish contact with police authorities were of no use and alleged that police officers were not cooperating.
