| Youth jailed for 9 yrs in murder case | | |

JAMMU, Oct 6:A youth was today sentenced to nine years rigorous imprisonment in connection with a murder case by the district and sessions judge, Reasi.
Identified as Inder Singh, son of Bhagat Ram, the accused hails from Panassa, Reasi. On September 11, 2005, Inder had killed Sansar Singh (65), son of Phani Ram of Thakra Kote, Panassa, after he had asked him not to abuse Vaishno Devi, wife of Kuldip Singh of Panassa Morh.
Inder had a long enemity with Vaishno. Angered by his intervention, he waylaid him when he was on his way to a floor mill in the area and gave repeated lathi blows on his head, causing him serious wounds.
He died while being shifted to the GMC hospital here. Inder was later arrested by the Reasi police and booked under FIR No 132 of 2005 and sections 302, 341 and 201 of RPC.
