Transport deptt employees seek one time settlement | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 6: All Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) Volunteer Retirement Employees Association Jammu (VRS) today held a protest demonstration seeking one time settlement of their dues. Protest demonstration was held under the leadership of president of the association Dev Raj Bali against the abhorrent behavior of state government and concerning department towards their demand of one time settlement of their dues. "It was promised by the management to settle payments within two months but it was unfortunate that even after lapse of three months, they had not been paid their dues", Dev Raj said. Dev Raj Bali said, "We have taken the VRS vide J&K SRTC order No.150/JKSRTC/MD of 2010 dated 22.1.2010 under the Govt. Golden Handshake / Volunteer Retirement Scheme vide notification Govt. order No.218-F of 2007 dated 16.07.2007 and in this order, it was assured by the J&K SRTC that one who took the VRS, his dues will be settled in one time', he said, adding that nothing has been done for the settlement of their dues by SRTC department." Association appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene and consider the demands of VRS employees. Among others who spoke during protest included Surinder Singh, D.N.Sharma, Asan Elite, Prem Singh, B V Sharma, M Sharief and Surat Singh. |
