Job racket unearthed, 4 arrested | | | JAMMU: Police busted a fake appointment racket and arrested four persons including a Power Development Department (PDD) employee who cheated innocents by promising them for jobs in various government departments. Based on specific inputs, Janipur police led by SHO Janipur Jaipal Sharma conducted raids in different areas of Jammu district and arrested the cheats who charged Rs 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh each from the job seekers in lieu of providing them government service. The arrested frauds have been identified as Vijay Kumar, PDD employee, son of Dhayan Chand resident of village Kamaal, Vijaypur, Sanjay Pandita son of Lasha Nath Pandita, residence of Om Nagar, Talab Tillo, Bohri; Ravi Abrol, son of K.L Abrol, residence of Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar( owner of cyber café) who was instrumental for printing fake appointment letters, his servant Vinay Kumar, son of Veer Singh, resident of Nanak Nagar Sector-6. During their sustained questioning accused persons disclosed that they have cheated the persons by providing them fictitious appointment orders to Dheeraj Salaria son of Durga Dass Salaria of Shusheel Nagar Behind Jaswant Plaza Camp Road Talab Tillo, who was appointed as Supervisor in Social Welfare Deptt on payment of Rs 1.5 lakh and the fictitious order issued by these culprits on behalf of Personal Officer, Office of the Dy Secretary, Social Welfare, Civil Secretariat, Jammu, Parshotam Sharma son of Chaman Lal Sharma of Dowal (Samba) appointed as Jr Asstt on payment of Rs.1.3 lakh and the fictitious order issued by these culprits on behalf of Dy Secretary, Finance Deptt Jammu. Harpreet Singh son of Lt. Jaswant Singh of Vijay Nagar, Camp Road, Talab Tillo appointed as driver in Science & Technology Dept. Rambagh Srinagar on the payment of Rs 1.3 lakh and the fictitious order issued by these culprits on behalf of Administrative Officer, Science & Technology Deptt Civil Secretariat Srinagar, Kulwant Singh son of Kulbir Singh of W.No.7, Kathua near Railway Station appointed as Driver in Irrigation Deptt Srinagar on payment of Rs 1. 5 lakh and the fictitious order issued by these culprits on behalf of Dy Secretary Govt. Irrigation & Flood Control Deptt. Civil Secretariat, Jammu, Ramanand Dubey son of Diwan Chand Dubey of Kamala, Vijaypur (Samba) also paid Rs 20,000 for his engagement as Daily Wager in PHE Deptt, Sunil Gupta son of Jatinder Gupta of Bharat Nagar Talab Tillo, Jammu also paid Rs 50 thousand, for his promotion and a Photostat copy of a portion of his service book also seized from these cheaters. During raid computer installed in R.K. Communication Network, Gandhi Nagar was seized. The fake appointment letter as Track Security Guard of Vijay Vishal Mangotra issued by these culprits on behalf of Administrative Officer, Northern Railway Hqrs. Budgam, Ferozpur (Punjab) was also seized. Besides fake appointment letters, police also recovered fake promotion orders and letter pads and stamps of the Civil Secretariat along with other official documents of government departments from their possession, the investigation of which was in progress. The police said so far, the accused had cheated nearly 15 persons on the name of government jobs and collected huge sum of money from them. A case under section 420, 465, 461, 468, 471, 120B RPC has been registered against the accused in Janipur police station. |
