JAMMU, OCTOBER 29 Cultural Troupe of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages comprising 17 artists from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh led by Additional Secretary, JKAACL, Mr. T. R. Sharma returned back to India after their thrilling performances of Music and Dance in Turkmenistan on the eve of their 15th Independence celebrations at Ashgabat. In this Independence celebration, only troupe from Jammu and Kashmir represented India to showcase the culture of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and perform fascinating and colorful dances in Kashmiri, Dogri and Ladakhi as well as songs. Besides cultural troupe of J&K from India, 13 countries of the world participated which include China, South Korea, Iran, South Arabia, USA etc. The cultural performances of Jammu and Kashmir were well taken and applauded by the people of Turkmenistan. As a token of their appreciation, the Government of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Culture, T.V and Radio, in their communication have conveyed heartiest congratulations and appreciations to Government of Jammu and Kashmir in particular and Government of India with the hope of such graceful gestures in future too. The artists who participated in 15th Independence celebrations of Turkmenistan include Shamima Azamat, Jamila Khan, Mehmeed Sayeed, Shoukat Ahmed, Abdul Majid, Gulzar Ahmed Ganai, Abdul Rashid Shah, Abdul Rashid Qureshi, J. R. Sharma, Poonam Sharma, Chariter Rakha, Shrengeri, Ambika Raina, Ritu Sharma and Shivani Bali. The music and dance programme was designed and choreographed by Mr. Randhir Kumar.
