| Manjit chairs one-day State level convention of School Education Officers | | | JAMMU, OCTOBER 29 Saying that the coalition government is committed to provide best possible education facilities in the state with adequate infrastructure, the Minister of State for Education and CA&PD S. Manjit Singh stressed the educational officers to work with more dedication. This was stated by the Minister while chairing one-day State level convention of School Education Officers (Head Master cadre) here today. Various problems were highlighted by the officers which include removal of pay anomalies of Headmasters, ZEPOs and ZEOs. Regularization of Senior Headmasters and other officers, removal of time bar for further promotion, hundred percent placement in all the districts. Post of the Headmaster to be declared non-vocational and restoration of Board Assignment in SSE as Head Examiners and Inspectors. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister assured them that their genuine problems would be looked into and solved in a phased manner. He said that a new mechanism would be put in place whereby the Education sector shall act as a facilator both for the rural and urban pockets of the state. Mr. Singh asked the officers to work with dedication and sincerity and coordinate for implementation of various schemes of the education so that the benefit of these schemes reaches the poorest sections of the society. He also asked them to conduct extensive tour of their respective areas for effective monitoring and control. He said that the state government has opened and upgraded various schools so that every child could get the education at their door step. The Minister appreciated the role and contribution of the Headmasters and ZEOs in the state education and assured sympathetic consideration of their genuine problems. Ex-Deputy Director Education Mr. I. D. Soni presided over the function.
