RSS 'unhappy' with BJP's Assembly strategy | Following 'directive', Sangh Parivar stays away from bandh call | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 7: Following an unannounced 'directive' from RSS, the BJP and the entire Sangh Parivar has decided not to support Jammu bandh tomorrow, much against the inclination of the party MLAs who faced wrath of marshals on the floor of state Assembly today at Srinagar. The call for bandh was essentially given earlier by J&K Panthers Party to lodge protest against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's remarks in state Assembly over accession of J&K with Union of India. Even as BJP raised a loud cry in the Assembly today over these remarks which resulted in a high volt action sequence, but according to sources RSS has expressed displeasure the manner party MLAs handled the entire issue in the House. "RSS leadership is not happy the way BJP legislators reacted today on the floor of the House, no matter they managed to create ruckus and pandemonium….", sources said adding that it has also questioned party's complete silence and reticence when Omar Abdullah loudly made these remarks in his speech. The MLAs should have strongly objected to by lodging protest by simply walking out of the Assembly, RSS is said to have conveyed to the party leadership, while expressing unhappiness over their 'full might' reaction the following day. RSS is also said to have expressed reservation about the party's inclination during the day to be a part of the bandh call, contending it made no sense to paralyse normal life on the first Navratra, a festival which has not only religious significance but is replete with a lot of activity and movement of the devotees. Sources said consequent upon RSS leadership's disagreement on bandh strategy as well, the local leadership of the BJP and entire Sangh Parivar have also endorsed that it was not a wise decision to support the bandh call. BJP local leadership convened a meeting this evening which was attended by almost all units of Sangh Parivar in which it was unanimously decided not to be a part of the bandh. Though this goes against the grain of the 'political drama' seen in the Assembly today followed by widespread anger and annoyance of the Sangh Parivar against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the BJP which did all this to address its Jammu constituency, is believed to have realized this fact as well that Panthers Party took the initiative for giving bandh call, no matter in support of a similar political spirit. However, it is essentially the directive from the RSS that has prevailed in the final decision during the meeting, sources added.
