| Charak visits Vijaypur to redress people’s problems | | | JAMMU, OCTOBER 29 Minister for Roads and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak today conducted an extensive tour of Vijaypur constituency to redress the genuine problems of the people. Addressing a mammoth gathering at Vijaypur town, Mr. Charak said that coalition Government is fully committed to provide basic amenities to all people of the state which include drinking water, electricity, road connectivity, schools, and colleges for the benefit of all the sections of the society. He said that the present government is fully aware with problems of the general masses and efforts are afoot to solve them on priority basis. He asked the engineers to use quality material in development works and complete ongoing development works within stipulated time. He said that the present government is making tireless efforts to provide road connectivity to connect border belt villages with towns and cities. Saying that a massive road connectivity programme has been launched in the state under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Minister said that government is making vigorous efforts to provide better road connectivity to all the areas of the state under various state and central schemes like Bharat Nirman Programme, CRF, NABARD, State and district plans. He said that at present R&B departments is maintaining 16395 kms of road length in the state, of which 7308 kms roads are block topped 4430 kms metalled, 1851 kms shingled and 2766 kms are fair weather roads. Mr Charak appealed the locals to cooperate with development agencies for completion of development works in time and asked the accompanying engineers to complete them in time so that benefits reach to masses quickly. He asked them to use only quality material in the construction for ensuring durability of public assets.
