Omar working as spokesperson for separatists: Bhim Singh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT New Delhi, Oct 8: Flaying Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his statement on 'accession of Kashmir to India', National Panthers Party chief Bhim Singh today said Abdullah was working as a 'spokesperson of the separatists'. ''The remarks of the Chief Minister that Jammu and Kashmir has not merged with the Union of India and the accession was conditional are highly objectionable,'' said Prof Bhim Singh. ''Abdullah has been working as a spokesperson for Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who wants freedom from India. The Chief Minister said J&K is not an integral part of India, which is an absolute violation of Section 3 of the Constitution of the state,'' he added. Section 3 states : ''The state of Jammu and Kashmir is and shall be an integral part of the Union of India''. ''Geelani would be happy that he has found his successor in the Abdullah family,'' the JKNPP chief charged. Prof Bhim Singh demanded that the Election Commission of India disqualify the Chief Minister from the voters' list as he violated the oath he subscribed to as an MLA to hold allegiance to the Constitution of India and the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir.
Party workers demonstrated at the Election Commission's office demanding that the National Conference, Abdullah's party, be de-recognised in the interest of upholding the sovereignty, integrity and unity of India. Prof Singh claimed that the Chief Minister has been trying to create an issue before US President Barack Obama's visit to India. ''I have been demanding for a long time that he be removed from his post. And after Mr Abdullah's statement, it has become necessary that the Central government should remove him,'' the JKNPP chief said. |
